December 17, 1973 - February 4, 2019
It is with deep sadness that we share news of the passing of Samuel Lee Whitmore, III. On Monday, February 4, 2019, Sam transitioned from "Earth to Everlasting" in Wichita, Kansas. This heartbreaking news comes only one month after the loss of his beloved mother Lisa Alford.
Samuel Lee Whitmore, III was born on Monday, December 17, 1973 in Wichita, Kansas from the union of Samuel Lee Whitmore, Jr. and Lisa Alford. Samuel grew up attending Haysville public schools. Later, he moved and earned his diploma from Wichita South High School. Samuel went on to earn a certificate in blue printing from the Denver Technical Institute of Denver.
Samuel had a big heart for his family, and he loved his children deeply. Growing up, he enjoyed going to the horse lot with his mother, sisters and brother. Samuel loved drawing, cooking, volleyball, hosting BBQ’s and he especially loved fishing.
Samuel knew everyone and everyone loved him. He was a loving father who enjoyed watching and coaching his sons little league football team. He loved music and frequently danced with his daughters. Samuel loved telling stories of how he caught big catfish and made sure that the stories were entertaining. Every Saturday Sam played volleyball when he lived in Oaklawn. His team always won. The neighborhood would come out to support their champion.
On April 15, 2007, Samuel gave his life to Christ. He was a 15th degree mason of the Prince Hall Rocky Mountain Lodge #1, where Sam did various community services. Samuel was a hard-working man, a warehouse supervisor for United Van Lines.
