Walden University announces the graduation of Mekole P. Wells, Ph.D., who presented her dissertation entitled, Leading by Example: The Importance of African American Men in the Academic Progressions of African-American Boys, on July 26, 2023 from the College of Health Sciences and Public Policy at Walden University and was conferred on January 20, 2024. Dr. Mekole Wells is true example of determination and resilience. She has been teaching, coaching, mentoring, and transforming lives in her community for years. Great things are already in the works. Dr. Mekole Wells is the daughter the late Willie Ray Weldon, Sr. and Emma Lee Weldon; Granddaughter of Beatrice “Bea” Weldon & Roosevelt Weldon; Great-Granddaughter of Effie Alford-Jennings & Anderson Jennings; and Great-Great-Granddaughter of Matthew Solomon Alford & Lucy Berry-Alford.
