Mourning the Loss of Celestine Agatha Remson

July 15, 1939 - January 30, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of Celestine Agatha Alford Remson. Celestine was born July 15, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. She received her heavenly calling on January 30, 2022, at the age of 82.

Celestine Agatha Alford Remson was the fourth child born to Claude Belva Alford and Blanche Faye Mc Junkin Alford on July 15th, 1939. She attended school at Los Angeles Adventist Academy from Kindergarten through eighth grade and graduated from San Pasqual Academy in June 1957. In her young adult years, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She met her future husband Wyly Randolph Remson singing with West Coast Wings Over Jordan Choir; an ensemble of young adults in the Los Angeles area that sang negro spirituals with a soulful vibe. She later married Wyly on November 5th, 1961, her life partner of 60 Years. From this union Wyly and Celestine had two children Marc Randolph Remson and Lisa Rene’ Remson. Soon after the children she realized they had “two fools, two children, and two dollars” she had to do something different. She went on to pursue her License of Vocational Nursing in 1966. She was an LVN for more than 30+ years. She retired from Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Celestine made another life change in March of 1984 when she became sober and maintained a sober lifestyle for the past 37 years. During her tenure at work and time in what we call ‘in the rooms’ she made some lasting relationships with coworkers and cohorts. She was loved by all she met and encountered. During her later years she was always brightened by the presence of family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Celestine was preceded in paradise by her brother, father Claude, mother Blanche, sisters Cassielean Irene Higgins and Mary Elizabeth Pultz, and her son Marc Randolph Remson.

She will be missed by the love of her life Wyly R. Remson, her daughter Lisa R. Remson; her immortality in her grandchildren G. Patrick Spivey, IV, Ayanna C. Spivey, Christopher D. Remson, and Kelia A. Remson; and her great-grandchildren Kaniyah R. E. Spivey, Jayzon P. Spivey, and Jaylon G. Spivey. A host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; along with friends and loved ones.
