June 20, 1977 ~ June 12, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved cousin, Nathan David Carter, who passed away on June 12, 2026, following a brief illness. He was 48 years old.
Nathan was born on June 20, 1977, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to David L. Carter and Cynthia “Cindy” Carter. He was the youngest of their children and brought laughter, energy, and a larger-than-life personality wherever he went.
Nathan had a huge personality and an even bigger sense of humor. He never met a stranger, loved making people laugh, and was always ready for a good time. He loved his family deeply, was a protective younger brother, and especially enjoyed spending time with his nephews and niece.
A talented bartender and gifted cook, Nathan had a passion for bringing people together through food. He created his own line of sauces and dry rub seasonings under the name Nathan D’s. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—a perfectly grilled ribeye, a gourmet burger, good music, and great company. His playlists were filled with blues and reggae, and there was usually a glass of Old Grandad Bonded Bourbon nearby. Nathan was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Vikings, loved spending time with his dog, and lived life on his own terms.
Nathan will be remembered for his infectious laugh, generous spirit, and the love he had for his family and friends. He leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
Nathan was preceded in death by his father, David LaRue Carter, and his grandparents, Antonia Alford-Carter and Carl Leon Carter.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Cynthia “Cindy” Carter; his sister, Shamim Carter-Garvis (Leon); his nephews, Daron Garvis and Quinton Garvis; his niece, Janai Garvis; his aunt, Carol Reid; his uncle, Anthony Carter; and a host of beloved cousins, relatives, and friends.
